An Autumn outfit for a trip to the country.

With the change in season and Autumn’s arrival, I discovered that I have a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear!

We are heading to Bright in the apline, High Country region of Victoria next week, so I need to pack warm, but also layers as the sun will be shining and the air will be crisp!

I thought I’d do an audit of my winter wardrobe. Since recovering from cancer, I am more discerning about what I buy. I try and avoid synthetic fibres; I need proper foot support and clothes that are easy to maintain and wash.

I am always looking for value for money too, so I will shop around for a look that I like and for the right price. It takes longer, but this is what conscious consumption is all about right?

This is my outfit inspo.

The Staple Knit

This is a pure cashmere, turtleneck knit, that I found on Amazon. I love cashmere because it is less likely to pill, is very warm and soft on the skin. It also adds an instant sense of luxe to an outfit.

The cross-body bag

This vegan leather bag is from H&M is super-cute. I love the colour and the brass detailing. It’s the perfect little purse for the more casual of outings.

H&M Vegan leather, dark brown cross body bag $34 AUD

The Aviator Sunglasses

Aviator sunglasses are everywhere at the minute, and I am here for it! Just adding these to any outfit, brings a sense of cool. I refuse to spend a lot of money on sunglasses because I have learnt that I never look after them, and just look at the price of these! They are basically free.

Dark Grey Denim Jean

I am a sucker for a pair of Zara jeans. It’s rare to buy jeans online that fit me first time, but strangely the Zara ones always do. They provide that extra detail in their size guides so that you can measure every proportion and they only use really good quality denim and hardware.

The Barn Jacket

If I was going to pick an essential, capsule wardrobe piece for Autumn, it would be the Barn Jacket. I spotted this beauty when scrolling through Ceres Life and bought it 10 minutes later. I didn’t know I needed a Barn Jacket until I saw this. It is insulated with a light padding, a gorgeous plaid cotton lining, corduroy cuffs, and press stud buttons. This one will be on high rotation this Autumn!

The Trainer

Love em or hate em, the Adidas range are still a staple. From the streets of New York to Paris, ladies are loving the laid-back look of a trainers, wearing them with pretty much everything.

I love a neutral trainer and this pair caught my eye for the extra detailing. I also love the extra sole support in the Spezials because well #over40.

The Earrings

A gold hoop with a bit extra, these sweet little trinkets are a lovely way to add some refinement and polish to an otherwise quite casual ensemble.

I cannot wait for some cold weather, just so I can wear my new clothes! What’s in your cart for Autumn at the moment - please share!
